The Red Komodo Recoil Rig is an Arca-Swiss compatible shoulder rig with a lightweight camera cage. Designed specifically for the RED Komodo, this rig is balanced, easy to customize, and perfect for all-day filming. An ACT Recoil rig is designed for optimal balance and comfort when shoulder mounted and is easily configured to accommodate various shooting styles- tripod, cage, handheld, run’n’gun, low mode, and many more! You can use each part individually or in any combination. This sku is for the entire cage- it has a top plate, two sides and a bottom. The top plate has integrated Z-Rail (NATO rail) for quick mounting rail based top handles, arms, monitor mounts, etc. It has a flush top for mounting other accessories across it plus 1/4″ 20 and Arri style 3/8″ 16 threaded holes on top and sides. There is also a provision for mounting two 15mm rod locks for rods to support focus motors and other top mounted rod accessories. The two independent side rails are Z-Rails (NATO) featuring two Arri M6 rosettes top and bottom and an Arri 3/8 16 tapped hole. 3 types of mounting styles. The bottom plate has an integrated Arca Swiss style locking wedge, an integrated and adjustable 1/4″ 20 screw support for lens adapters and 1/4″ 20 threaded holes on the sides. The cage protects the corners of the camera body. It is very ergonomical and low profile. Super light weight from use of aircraft aluminum. Build your cage and rig how you want with our cage. If you want to build a shoulder rig, slide the cage into our ACT Baseplate. – ACT Baseplate – The ACT Baseplate is an Arca-Swiss compatible baseplate. It is designed to work with all Mirrorless and DSLR cameras. It has a built-in curved shoulder pad and 15mm lightweight spaced quick-release rod ports both front and back for matte boxes, follow focus, lens supports, and other accessories. The top (camera plate) and bottom (tripod mount) of the baseplate are Arca-Swiss compatible for easy transitions between shooting styles. Add on our ACT mounting plate to your tripod to be able to quickly lock down your shoulder rig or cage rig. The bottom of the ACT Baseplate also has 1/4 20 and 3/8 16 screw holes for direct connection to tripod quick release plates. The red sliding top camera plate offers easy adjustability for different lens options to get your rig balanced properly for shoulder mount shooting. Our Mirrorless and DSLR cages can also mount directly into the top of the ACT baseplate, without the use of the red camera plate while offering the same features. – Tactical Handle – Our most versatile handle! With the turn of one ratcheting lever, this handle can be a top handle, left hand grip, or right hand grip- use it where you need it for your shooting style. The slim design fits comfortably in your hand. Along the top is a Z-Rail (NATO rail), giving you multiple 1/4 20 screw holes for mounting accessories like an Atomos Recorder or small monitor with our Universal Monitor Mount. It also has a coldshoe mount and 15mm rod port for mounting additional accessories like one of our Axis Mini or Axis Micro, EVF Mounts. This is the perfect accessory for our ACT Recoil Shoulder Rig or a Zacuto DSLM or DSLM Cage; quickly slide it on any Z-Rail (NATO rail) and lock it down with the turn of a lever. Quick to adjust on the go. – Axis Micro – The Axis Micro EVF Mount is a simple and efficient way to add a wider range of adjustment to rosette mounted EVFs or small monitors. Designed to attach to the top of your camera set up, it leaves plenty of room at the lens for focusing and will work with the widest of lenses. The Axis Micro has extensive articulation for use with a variety of cameras, both shoulder mounted in a Recoil configuration or in tripod operating position. It is very small and quick to install and remove. The Axis Micro attaches to your rig via a required 15mm rod port at the top of a kit positioned perpendicular to your camera lens, see recommended accessories. Slide the Axis Micro into the 15mm rod port and clamp into place. The Axis Micro attaches to the EVF via a secure 1/4″ 20 rosette mount. – Right-Hand Wood Trigger Grip – This is our 15mm rod based wooden handgrip designed for your right hand, click here for left hand model. It attaches to any standard 15mm rod, giving you a sleek, comfortable, solid hand grip on your rig. Our trigger grips are the most adjustable grips available.
