About Bright Tangerine 3-Stage Swing Away Kit – Misfit Kick Core – The core of the Misfit Kick, featuring the patented reveal stage to transform from 2-stage to 3-stage without tools or extra hardware. The Misfit Kick is a versatile matte box for all types of filmmaking. Configurable to clip on, rod mount or swing away. The Misfit Kick Core is the base module of the system. The clamp adapters use the new Frame Safe design for an extra wide field of view, even when using large format sensors with wide lenses. The Misfit Kick features an all-new patented reveal stage design, making it more robust and easier to operate in the field, converting from a 2-stage to 3-stage matte box without any extra hardware or tools, just a third filter tray. Rather than use ball bearings like traditional matte boxes, the Misfit Kick uses a new spring system in combination with a protruding ridge to secure the filter trays, creating a positive locking position with tactile feedback for increased confidence when loading filters. For even more security, a filter guard can be mounted onto the bottom of the sunshade. When working in fast paced environments like on a tracking vehicle, drone or jib, a safety loop provides a secure tethering point for a safety wire or lanyard. For additional light protection, add the optional top flag, side flag or hard mattes for precise control over flares and image contrast. Knurled, captive locking screws are used to secure filters in place, preventing screws from going missing while in the field. The sunshade is built from high-grade carbon fibre and the reveal system from CNC cut hard anodised aluminium for extra strength while staying lightweight. – Carbon Fibre Top Flag – Prevent light entering your lens causing flares. With extendable wings, providing complete protection from stray light. The flag can be mounted to the top or bottom of the matte box. This Carbon Fibre Flag mounts to the top or bottom of the matte box, giving you fine control over the light entering your frame. Adding the flag is done in seconds, using the quick release mount, which also secures the flag at the desired angle and packs flat for transport, protecting the lens. With extendable wings, you can protect your image to maintain proper contrast or let light in to add creative flares. The flag is made from carbon fibre to reduce weight, and is coated for maximum durability. The flag is also compatible as a bottom flag to protect from lens flares when shooting in snow or sandy conditions. – 4×5.65″ X Filter Tray – This tray is designed for the Misfit Kick 360 and accepts 4×5.65″ standard sized filters. Simply pull the spring-loaded lock to insert & secure your filter. This filter tray enables you to add 4×5.65″ filter for use with the Misfit Kick 360 matte box. It features a spring-loaded locking mechanism to securely hold the filter in place. British Workmanship Machined and hand-finished in our single factory in Church Crookham from high-grade materials. Hard anodised for extended durability. – Misfit Kick 360 Expansion Pack – This expansion pack provides an additional rotating stage on the Misfit Kick 360. It is compatible with 4 x5.65″ or 5 x5″ Misfit Kick 360 filter trays. This expansion pack provides the Misfit Kick 360 with an additional filter stage with 360-degrees of rotation. It mounts securely onto the side rails of the core. Wide Coverage The stage can accept 4 x5.65″ or 5 x5″ filter trays for wider coverage. 360-Degree Rotation Graduated NDs and polarisers can be precisely positioned in the matte box, freely rotating 360-degrees and secured in place with the silver locking screw. The Dovetail for the Misfit Kick lets you use your matte box in a Swing Away configuration for fast lens changes and use with rubber donuts. The dovetail attaches securely with the four included stainless steel screws. It is built from hard anodized aluminium to create a secure mointing point. – Swing Away Core – The core unit to add swing away functionality to the Bright Tangerine line of matte boxes. When combined with a dovetail and swing arm, the matte box can easily swing away for fast lens changes. The Swing Away Core is the base module for adding swing away functionality to your matte box, speeding up lens changes and adding support for use with rubber donuts. Using the swing away core, you can slide the matte box forward and easily swing away the matte box using the push button for clear access to the lens without having to remove the matte box completely. When you don’t require swing away support, simply use the quick release to remove the matte box. The Swing Away Core has a quick release to mount onto the dovetail on the matte box and requires a 15mm LWS or 15/19mm studio arm to complete the system. It is built from precision cut and hard anodized aluminium and stainless steel to ensure your set up remains ultra-light weight and also give you maximum durability. – 15mm LWS Swing Away Arm – Add 15mm LWS swing away support to the Misfit Kick for quick and easy lens changes. This arm attaches directly to the swing away core. The 15mm LWS Swing Away Arm connects to the Swing Away Core via the dovetail and is locked securely in place. The bracket has a single lever to lock the rod clamp on both sides, removing the need for a second lever. The arm can be adapted to studio supports using the B1235.1003 – 19mm Studio Bracket or B1235.1004 – 5mm Studio Bracket It is built from hard anodised aluminium for durability and strength. – Carbon Fibre Side Flags – The Carbon Fibre Side Flags give you fine control over the light entering your frame. With extendable wings, you can protect your image to maintain proper contrast or let light in to add creative flares. It comes with the flag mounts which attach to the side of the matte box and provide quick release mounting for the flags. Each flag is made from carbon fibre to reduce weight, and is coated for maximum durability.
